About Me
Cinematographer. Filmmaker. Storyteller.
My amusement and wonder for films began when I was very little... I would say when I was six years old or so, and it was the first time a movie caught my eyes and then my mind; it was Star Wars Episode V; I landed on the tv room where my older cousins and uncles were watching it just in time to see Darth Vader ignite his red light sabre.
And that was it. I was hooked.
When I was older, I took an interest in acting and, later photography,
then I learned (self-taught) how to edit my videos and photographs using various software programs*
to improve my postproduction knowledge and skills.
Once I graduated from high school, I enrolled in Audiovisual Communications and publicity at the Universidad Panamericana; while I was in the course of my 4th semester, I got offered a small scholarship to the Film Production Program at Vancouver Film School, so I took it.
Film Production is the name of the overall process that is needed for creating any kind of quality storytelling content in an audiovisual format; Writing, directing, producing, set dressing, cinematography and post-production are necessary for any project.
There I specialised in two areas; that is Cinematography and Directing.
After graduating from Vancouver Film School, I returned to Guadalajara and finished my Bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Communications and publicity at the Universidad Panamericana.
I've worked as a Director of photography in various short films, and I've directed and written a couple of ads and commercials.
lately, I've been 1st assistant camera at a production house that produces mini-series for Lifetime and Telemundo.
